The New York Community Trust recently renewed its support of IDA's Pare Lorentz Documentary Fund through 2017. We are excited to say that we have made changes to grant process which will in the end benefit the filmmaker.
We will now be accepting applications on a rolling basis through July 31, 2017. Applications will be reviewed throughout this time period, with grant panels convening regularly and grants being made throughout the year. In order to be more responsive to the needs of the filmmakers we serve, we have shortened the review cycle and will strive to make notifications within eight weeks.
The fund provides production support for the creation of original, independent documentary films that illuminate pressing issues in the United States. We’re looking for projects that exhibit objective research, artful storytelling, strong visual style, high production values, artistic writing, outstanding music composition, as well as skillful direction, camerawork and editing.
You always need a Film Business Plan to get funding from investors.
Thank you for helping to get the word out about this opportunity to the documentary community.
